Youth Minister
part-time – paid position
Principal Function:
Work with Pastor, staff, students, and their parents to develop, implement, and lead a ministry for students (7th grade through the 12th grade) and their families that equip and enable students to know Jesus Christ as their Lord, and to grow spiritually.
The right candidates should meet the requirements for a pastor as listed in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate an effective Sunday School Ministry for students
- Direct an effective Wed Night Youth Worship Service. Preaching weekly to students.
- Provide training and opportunities for students to discover and develop their spiritual gifts, encouraging them to utilize these gifts in the service of Christ’s Body
- Plan and administer student activities that promote spiritual growth, Christian values, Christian fellowship, Bible study, and family enrichment
- This position would be expected to plan, prepare to take our students to our church summer camp that lasts for nearly a week.
- Recognize students’ accomplishments and achievements
- Be an effectual Christian role model for students
- Organize and promote activities such as service projects, mission trips, retreats, fellowships, and conferences that will enhance spiritual growth
- Maintain communications among parents, students, and leaders through such vehicles as social medias, etc.
- Recommend the yearly budget requirements for student’s activities
- Preach Sunday morning or evening sermons as needed for the pastor.
- Be available to make hospital/homebound visits.
- Fundraising activities for youth functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Pastor
Personal:
- Pursue personal spiritual growth through private devotion time
- This candidate must adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- Maintain, as a priority, a right relationship with God, spouse, and family
- Attend weekly worship services
- Experience in youth ministry is a plus
- Provide a link or recording to your sermons.
